Compact Thin
Is there any variety of vultures that have long thin beak?
Three birds, (appears to be Vultures, because of their body appearance).. have made their nest in a very tall tree in my backyard. As their nest is high up in the tree, it is very difficult to observe them. The only thing that i have observed is that they have very long thin beaks. I am not able to make out whether they are actually vultures or some other birds. I cant take the their photographs as my compact cam is unable to zoom close to them.
it would be easier to tell if I knew what the birds looked like, and what country you are from. In the USA there are only 2 vulture species both have kinda skinny beaks that are hooked at the tip. the turkey vulture is common from Canada through Mexico, it has a red head and soars with it’s wings in a V, the Black vulture has a black head with silvery wingtips when seen from below. it soars with flat wings like a hawk does. Recent discoveries show that these 2 vultures are closer related to Storks than they are to the vultures from other parts of the world.
