How can you tell if your eyeglasses are made right?
I was watching this video on yahoo that said 3 out of the 4 eyeglasses that they tested were made incorrectly.
I wonder if I had a bad pair once. Once I had these glasses that just didn’t seem right and used to make me dizzy
The Doctor I work for checks out every single pair that we order from our lab. When we make them in office, they are double checked by a different person in the office to make sure that they are accurate. Most retail operations do not do this. Most retail operations will pass something and dispense it with the promise that they will remake it if something is found wrong with it. MANY pairs of glasses go out being out of tolerance. There are tolerances of how far something can be off by standards set by ANSI. I have worked for two major optical chains. They tout accuracy and customer satisfaction, but they do let some stuff go and it is not right. This is one reason why I will not work for large optical companies again. It just is way against my work ethic. My thing is, if I wouldn’t give it to my mother, why would I give it to anyone? If it doesn’t meet the MOM test, it fails. I work for a Doctor who feels the very same way. I think your independents do a better job of RX accuracy and are willing to stand behind their work better than any of the chains. Just my opinion, but I am speaking as an insider looking out.
