Is it rude to ignore the cashier at cash registers?
In grocery stores or retail places, I notice cashiers’ greetings, thank yous, good byes, and please come agains get ignored due to the customer either speaking on the cell phone, doesn’t know what mannerism means, or lack of basic school education. According to my research, beautiful women, handsome men, and rich people tend to do these things the most. I don’t mean to ask if it is rude to ignore the cashier. I mean to ask “HOW RUDE IS IT TO IGNORE A CASHIER WHO DEDICATE THEIR TIME TO CUSTOMERS?” I am asking this cuz I am a cashier myself and such behavior bothers me. In case of rich and beautiful, I think that they think that their fame is more important than mannerism (doesn’t apply to all good-looking and rich people out there.)
I’m one of those that has an appreciation for the people who wait on me. Standing behind a cash register for 8 hours is not an easy thing to do, and I always try to be kind. Unfortunately, I don’t always get kindness in return, but I do my best.
