Can you make a decent salary as a Web Developer Freelancer?
I was wondering if you can make an average salary like 25K by being a Web Developer Freelancer?? How hard is to get into that field?(I am not talking about web design). What technologies are in demand? php/mysql? Asp.Net? Flex?. Thanks for your time.
If you can get into the field and find a steady stream of clients, you can make a lot more than 25k – the problem is (as with any other form of consulting), is that it’s hard to find clients when you don’t have any experience. You probably know how hard it is to find a job in this economy, but when you’re contract, it’s like finding several small jobs – each one just as hard to find as regular permanent employment.
It’s definitely worth a shot trying to freelance while looking for a permanent job, or if you know another freelance you can work with who already has a strong client base.
