What is inside that small cylinder in a laptop adapter?
What is inside that cylinder thing that is at the end of a AC adapter of a laptop or notebook?
Is it like a load matching thing? Current limiter?
That’s a ferrite core. Nothing inside it. It is just a metal made of ferrite. It has nothing to do with the function of the laptop or the adapter. The function of it is to reduce EMI interference coming from the laptop that may affect other nearby devices. It is a regulatory requirement by FCC. Don’t remove it.
