Oval Eyeglasses
What kind of eyeglasses should I get?
I need some suggestions on what eyeglass frames I should be looking into. I usually wear contacts but like to give my eyes a break. Having a high prescription I used to hate wear eyeglasses but there are much worse things I can be dealing with!

I have an oval face
My prescription is -8.50 in Left eye and -9.50 in Right eye.
What high index lenses should I also check out?
Hoping someone who has the same presciption as me can help me out some. Is thicker frame better too??
Also how long should I wear my contacts for each day? Is 10-12 hours to much? I do take them out at night before bed and am now starting to wear glasses more.
Do the frames with the thicker bows look good too?
My eyes are also pretty bad, not quite as high of an Rx as you, but pretty close! You will defintitely want to get the ultrathin 1.74 high index lenses because you are over a -8.00 power. You should also stay away from rimless and semi-rimless frames because the lenses will not look good. A thicker plastic or acetate frame would be best. Those are really in fashion right now, too! Regarding your contact lenses, my eye doc told me 8 hours max, then switch to glasses. Your eyes need the oxygen! I used to wear them for much longer, but now that I have glasses that I actually LIKE, I wear them more often.
