Red Black
when wiring a two speed motor do you connect both black and red to hot for hi speed only?
I have a two speed moter in a cooler hard wired to a single switch. Wires labled Lo is Red and Hi is Black. only the black wire is connected and the red is taped. The Motor spins but not at what I would consider Hi speed. do both Red & Black wires need to see hot to get full speed?
Most Swamp Cooler motors are hooked up just like yours is. Black would be the high speed connection, red would be the low speed connection and they don’t get connected together to get a higher speed.
