What lens index should I go with?
With a -2.75 Rx for farsightedness in both eyes what kind of lens type should I go with?
1.50 standard
1.57 mid-index
1.59 polycarbonate
1.61 high index
1.67 high index
I understand that the higher index you go the thinner the lens. I’m ordering plastic/acetate frames, one pair is half rims. Just wondering how thin I need to go with my Rx strength…

That isn’t an overly strong prescription so thickness won’t be a huge concern.
The 1.57 for the plastic frame, and the 1.59 Poly for the semi rimless would be ideal…or you could go with the poly in both.
There is no need to go higher than that though , it would be overkill with no benefits.

You had written – 2.75, so we could already see you are nearsighted, not farsighted…no it doesn’t change anything anyway.
And 1.61 as suggested below is very unnecessary with that power. It wouldn’t be any thinner than the 1.59…just more expensive.
Anti reflection is a nice option if you want to spend a bit more.
