Can I safely use 32 auto ammo in a 32 revolver?
I have gotten mixed answers to this question. I have a ruger 32 h&r magnum single action revolver. Some people have told me I can shoot 32 auto ammo in the revolver. The 32 auto is semi rimmed, therefore it will load in the revolver. Is it safe to shoot the 32 auto in a revolver though? Thx!
Is it safe? Probably safe enough since the .32 ACP is much lower powered, and uses similar bullet dimensions . Is it smart? Nope. For one thing .32 H&R magnum revolvers are also designed to shoot .32 S&W long cartridges, which are just as cheap as (or cheaper than!) .32 ACP, and nearly as plentiful. Why buy something that might be dangerous, when you can buy something that definitely will NOT be dangerous from the same vendor?
(I can sympathize with you about the .32 H&R mags though. Very expensive nowadays, and hard to find.)
