What are the various costs associated with eyeglasses?
Hi, I am going to purchase my first pair of glasses in a long while. I am interested in visiting stores such as Lenscrafters, Pearlevision but also smaller chains as well.
The type of glasses I’m interested in are the thick hipster glasses which are very common in my area. What are the types of costs or features that will go into purchasing these glasses? Are lenses more expensive than frames?
And finally what are the usual price ranges for “hipster” glasses such as Warby Parkers, D&G and Versace? I am not interested in a high-end style that’s going to cost me $500!

Because there is such a wide variety of frames, lens materials, various coatings and options available the price range is huge: from $8.00 frames & lenses (on line) to glasses that are so expensive that, if you have to ask how much they are, you can’t afford them.
You could try checking prices for the frames, lenses and options you want at some of the on-line sites, but remember, if you get them from a local shop they will be more as you are also paying for services, like free fitting, adjustments, minor repairs, etc.
